The stones are 7x5mm pear shape gilson opals, and they are set in a handmade fine silver setting, with a sterling silver post and scroll back.
The post measures approx 10mm so it's comfy to wear all the time - even in bed.
Gilson opals are lab created, which means you get all the beauty of an opal, but none of the problems of wearing such a delicate stone. These are earrings you can wear in the shower without worrying about the gems becoming dull.
